2020 Edition Winner - Reuse Prize

La chapelle du rang 1 in Lac-Mégantic is the result of the transformation of the small anglican church, Saint-Barnabas, into an intimate performance space hosting music artists during the summer. Attracting both tourists and people from the local community, the shows combine musical performances limited to 60 spectators, with barbecues on the lawn. The artists who perform here remark upon the unique and welcoming atmosphere. They are housed by the Lavallée family, who have managed the project since its pilot summer in 2017. La chapelle du rang 1 contributes to the cultural offerings of Lac-Mégantic while also conserving an element of its built heritage.
