Works of Art and Movable Property Committee – Part 2

The furnishings and works of art committee is made up of experts from the museum and academic sectors. It is responsible for analyzing and recommending restoration projects for works of art and furnishings of heritage value. The objects concerned include precious pieces from religious collections, such as sculptures, paintings, liturgical objects and historical artifacts, which bear witness to the cultural and spiritual significance of religious institutions in the province.

Using its collective expertise, the committee assesses the state of conservation of these works and makes recommendations regarding the interventions necessary to preserve their integrity and historical value. The committee’s role is crucial in ensuring that these objects, often centuries old, can be passed onto future generations while retaining their original value and character. The committee’s decisions help maintain the connection between the past and the future, allowing religious communities and the general public to continue to admire and study these artistic and cultural treasures.
