Organ Committee – Part 2

The organ committee brings together experts from the major music schools of Quebec. It is responsible for analyzing applications and recommending organ restoration projects. The members of this committee are responsible for determining the heritage value of historic organs and determining their eligibility for funding. They must also ensure that the restoration will be carried out according to best practices and that it will respect the heritage character of the instrument.

In addition to its fundamental role in organ restoration, the committee ensures the transmission of the expertise and know-how necessary to guarantee the longevity of these instruments. The committee also supports public awareness initiatives, organizing conferences, workshops and events that provide a better understanding of the issues related to the conservation of heritage organs. Over the years, the work of the committee has made it possible to restore numerous organs of inestimable value, thus contributing to the preservation of a unique sound heritage that spans the centuries. The passion and commitment of the committee members ensure that these instruments will continue to be appreciated and played in the years to come, while preserving their authenticity and musical value.
