Québec faces the challenge of restoring churches while protecting them
The violent fire that ravaged the structure of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral brings to the fore the issue of the protection of the local religious heritage, including the Montreal Notre-Dame Basilica, which was hit by a fire in 1978. While there is a desire to ensure that no place of worship is burned, not everyone agrees on how to protect these churches while preserving heritage buildings.
